    Exclamation MY FIRST MWAG CALL!

Went to the Country Junction in Wind Gap today looking for some furniture.
Went up the sales clerks to ask what area to look in, while one clerk was walking me to show me some items, i saw her look at the girl behind me, then pat her side, then look at my 1911 on my hip. Nothing was said.
I was shown to the area i needed and began to browse. I saw out of the corner of my eye the sales clerk from behind my on the phone glancing my way. I continued to shop thinking "here we go, my first call".
I spent a good twenty minutes shopping then walked up to the counter to ask if they had a catalog. After looking thru that and finding nothing i left the store. The sales clerk was outside still on the phone, I was amazed that nobody showed up yet! I got in my car and started to pull out of the lot when two patrol cars pulled in. I drove past them and continued to drive home without being pulled over.
I said well screw them I"m not shopping there anymore!
    Then i got pissed...
I was going to go back (without gun) to educate them and give them a PAFOA pamphlet, i decided it was better to call them instead. ( i didn't want to seem hostile)
    so here's the phone conversation:

m- can i speak with the manager plse?
s-this is the manager how can i help you?
m-i just was in your store...I'm the guy you called the cops on.
s-oh.. first off i'm sorry, a customer came to us about your gun and it's store policy to call the police.
m- me do you realize it's perfectly legal to carry a gun that way?
s- yes, actually i called my husband at work he has guns, he told me it was perfectly legal and to leave you alone. (score one for informed gun owner)
but like i said a customer complained and we have a policy to follow.
m- so if i were to come back to the store am i welcome to shop while armed?
s- yes you are welcome in our store we would be glad to have you come back. I apologize for what happened, it won't happen again.
I don't know if i handled this well, but i think i did a good job.
anybody want to add something for next time?
I'm still amazed how long it took police to respond!
It's not like the area is a hotbed of activity!
    this was around 5pm tonite.

When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

The police dispatcher probably asked the right questions and told her to tell the nosy busybody who ever she was to shut her pie hole its perfectly legal, and mind her own business.
You should put the number up so we can all call tomorrow

Sounds like the police did not want to show up at all. Probably wouldn't have said anything to you anyway. Don't think I would shop there if policy is to call the police every time a customer points out a man with a gun. Maybe continue up the ladder to see if that is official policy.

You have a perfect chance to turn this into a big discount on anything you want to buy. I had an incident at a Lowes a couple years ago. I got $100 Distressed Customer discount on a fridge because of it.

You mean "It won't happen again unless someone else complains because, since it is company policy we are required to call the police."

I think someone isn't telling the truth. Either it isn't really store policy or else she can't guarantee that it won't happen again. Can't be both.

Actually it would be nice to believe the cops understood the situation and didn't come with guns blazin'
