savage arms sporter 22 long rifle

Hello,

I have a few questions about an old savage arms sporter. It is a 22 long rifle caliber. The serial number on the barrel is 85865. When I removed the butt plate there is a number stamped 87227. Are there manuals available to show how to take it apart to clean? Does anyone know if there are still magazines available? There are several patent dates with the latest being Nov 20, 1917. The gun shoots great, I just would like to get the bolt out to give it a good cleaning. Thanks.

not sure of the exact model you have but try opening the bolt the whole way and then pull the trigger while pulling on the bolt. my guess it will probably come out so you can clean. look on the barrel or reciever there should be a model number or name.
