Re: Glock 30 vs Glock 29
I chose the g30. I have a g30sf and it has been flawless. no ftrb problems. A little rub on the trigger bar, but gave it a quick 25c trigger job (more like a 15cent) because i barely touched it.
Also, I think that 45 ammo is cheaper.

Re: Glock 30 vs Glock 29
Love love love my G30.
I chose it after doing a little research and came to these conclusions, right or wrong.
.45 ACP ammo is always readily available.
10 mm ammo is a hotter round, which equates to more wear and tear on all the gun components.
10 mm ammo would create more wear and tear on my VISA if I shot it as often as I do .45 ACP
Another non-research related reason for my choice, but given equal weighting in my decision is that I have other .45s, but no 10 mms, so it's one less caliber to keep in stock.
The temptation that got me looking at the G29 was that it reportedly could bring down a boar* more readily than a .45, but I have a .44 mag for that.
*ETA: Yes, I know I can't hunt with a G29, but if I'm hunting bambi and carrying a sidearm for SD, it's comforting to know it'll protect me from all four and two legged unfriendly creatures I may encounter.Last edited by str8shooter; October 1st, 2011 at 04:06 PM.

Re: Glock 30 vs Glock 29
You gonna buy a Glock after the commotion you caused in the other thread? Nah, just busting on ya.
The G30, dude, unless you can afford the ammo. They do not make cheap 10mm ammo for the range like they do in .45apc. You can use +P ammo for HD if you want a little more beef, and it feels darn near like a 10mm ( I am comparing the G21 to the G20).
.45apc will take hog up to 165lbs. This I know for sure. How big will it take? Don't know, but I know 165lbs is not a problem for it; ball, even.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: Glock 30 vs Glock 29
i have both, the 30 is more pleasant to shoot. the 29 has the power level i prefer if i have to use a firearm for defense. i do not see any accuracy differences with comparing the two, i shoot both equally well. i reload both calibers so there is no substantial cost difference with practice ammo. as far as factory ammo for actual carry use i do not let cost factor into the equation it is whatever it is. i enjoy shooting both. the .45 has been a long term favorite of mine in the 1911 platform as well as the glock platform. the 10 is a bit newer to me but has also become a favorite with a little bit more kick ass factor. as far as i am concerned either is a excellent choice for a working gun. you would be hard pressed to do better in either caliber as long as you stick with a glock.

Id buy the 29. For a compact .45 I think I would choose something else.

Re: Glock 30 vs Glock 29
I chose the G30 simply based on availability and cost of ammo. Otherwise I would choose the 29.
