Suomi M31
Who on this forum has experience with the Suomi M31 9mm carbines? The parts kits are cheap on GB but I have never seen one on this forum and was wondering if anyone ever tried one or bought one.
thanks. You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent

Re: Suomi M31
I had a first gen one that had light primer strike issue's. Sent it back to TNW and all was fixed. Couldn't drift the front so it shot to the right. It grouped, meh, 4-6" at 50 yds.The FS was supposed to be driftable but I'll be damned if I could get it to move. Very heavy, great for FA but not so much for SA. Here is a link that I bookmarked the manual; maybe of some help. BTW, I did end up selling it.

Re: Suomi M31
Kita are a lot harder to do, you have to machine part of the receiver, etc...
look here for some info. these guys make 80% receivers for them.

Re: Suomi M31
I noticed that website and my concern was that after you buy and pay for everything (machining etc), would it not be advisable to just buy one that is completely done?
Kit - $100
Receiver - $185 - $200
Machine work and rebuilding - $150 - $200
I can buy one already done and working for $400 - $500
I noticed also that all kits are going up in price.............was the WASR kit $150 2 years ago, now the same kits has almost doubled. I am looking for a WASR or a Suomi but I will never pay $500 for either one.You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent

Re: Suomi M31
From what I've read, the TNW built Suomis sometimes need some tweaking.
Regardless, those semi-Suomis at Dunhams weigh like a Hakim. That's a boat load of weight for a pistol-cal carbine. Try posting a WTB here, maybe someone would be happy to sell.
Or in the spirit of DIY...

Re: Suomi M31
bought one of the first TNWs,had some issues, sent back for recall. They turned it around quick. It shoots very well and is reliable w/ 50 round :coffin" mags and thr 36 rd sticks. Not so much with the drums.
For the
$$ I like it.
