Default Ikea Robinson NOT open carry friendly.

This happened literally five minutes ago. And, I should have know, reading what I read now so it probably isnt a surprise to anyone else. But going in, I didn't realize they werent gun friendly. There is a sign, that I missed because it is small print on the sliding door which was opened when I went in.

Anyway, I needed a new desk so I made my way through the store and wrote up my purchase order. I was almost to the end when this husky girl runs up to me and says:

"Excuse me sir! I hate to do this to you, but we have a no firearm policy and I have to ask you to take it to your car or something."

Me: Oh, ok, do you have a sign posted?

Her: Yes, it is on the front door.

Me: Oh ok, I must have missed it since the door was open when I came in.

Her: No problem! You can just put it in your car and come back in.

Me, handing her my purhase order with over five hundred in items on it: No thanks, I will just leave. Can you show me the fastest way out?

Her: No problem, and again I am sorry. I know that your are legal, it is just company policy.

Me: Ok thanks for the info.

On the way out, I verified the sign as I described above.

Like I said, this probably isn't a surprise to most of you but I guess I just take for granted my carrying since I've never been asked to leave anywhere before.

To her credit, she was friendly and non confrontational. I know where I was "made" too. In the desk area, an older male clerk ask me if I needed help as I was leaned over looking at a desk. He came up to me strong side and my p30 was in his face. When I said no, he bugged out and I caught him staring at me from behind a pole. I though nothing of it at the time because peoples irrational fear is of no concern of mine. I'm betting he called the boss on me.

Oh well, I'm glad they caught me before I blew 500+ there. I would have been pissed to learn about them after the fact.

    Justin

Ps sorry for spelling errors and what not, I'm on my phone in the lot.

You still bought all that stuff? I'm not knocking you, but I think if I was asked to leave, I wouldn't spend my money. Or did you already pay?

Well its good at least that she didn't start spouting off, and seemed to be knowledgeable.

Yeah I wouldn't normally buy stuff like that, but for my home gaming center I didn't mind going cheap. Their loss, staples had what I needed and the guy even said nice gun.

Small sign? Last I looked, it had a big circle with a slash covering a pistol.

And who here expected Ikea to be pro gun (or in favor of the law as it stands)? If you did, Ive got land to sell you by the gallon in Flori-duh.

It's a European company. They don't get it.

Nope nothing like that. Just small print near the bottom of the door.
