Default Compound Bow Mods - $5 DIY Kodak Playsport Mount

    Hey everyone,

Just posted a quick vid on YouTube on a easier way to mount a camera mount to a compound bow... check it out if you're into that.

Pretty cool, I may have to try that. I have the Midland mount which replaces the stabilizer and I'm not liking it. I practiced with it yesterday and I found it distracting.

thanks, yeah using the washers to anchor the mount somewhere else on the bow seems to work a lot better. We did a lot of accuracy testing after with the camera mounted just to make sure it didn't have a negative effect on the bow.

I have two cams and both are too heavy and too much movement for my liking. I'm actually considering scrapping the camera unless I can find a quick and easy way to mount it to my tree stand. I won't particularly care much for a "Blair Witch" style clip anyway. ha!

My son is a Jr. hunter this year (did mentored youth last year) so I will be sitting fairly close to him. It would be cool to be able to film him taking a shot too so the tree stand mount might work out best.

I ended up scrapping the camera mount on the bow idea. I set up my treestand on Sunday but before I left the house it occurred to me to simply drill and tap the gun rail and screw my midland mount directly onto a surface easily accessible and much more stable. With where I am in the tree, I can easily turn the cam, adjust the zoom and hopefully get you guys a good vid of the shot. My son and I are around 50-60 yds apart so if something is out of my range, he will be shooting with a crossbow and I will have that on tape as well.
