The best deal you've ever gotten?
I stumbled across some good prices on 9mm ammo today that made me very happy. That made me think about the deals I've been lucky enough to get on ammo and guns over the years. So now I'm wondering what is the best deal you have ever gotten? I'm talking about that steal that still makes you smile when you think about it.

Re: The best deal you've ever gotten?
Probably the best/luckiest deal I ever got was an International Harvester M1 Garand that appeared to have all the correct (original possible) parts to it. This was at Cabelas believe it or not. Out the door I paid ~850 including tax..Similar rifles at the time were going for $1200.00 on gunbroker.
Also, after coming across some receipts recently for things I bought over the past 15-20 years, I have to conclude that the best deals going are whatever is available at the moment. For instance found some LC M2 ball ammo I bought from the CMP back in 2001. $86.00 for 400 rounds.

Bought a Charles daily 1911 compact with holster, 3 extra mags for $180 at A&S indoor pistol range 2 years ago. Gun had 250 rounds through it and was near new.
The week following I went over to A&S and rec'd a Llama 357 6"bbl for $130........those are deals that hardly ever come up and you just have to be lucky and be at the right place at the right time. You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent

I had purchased this Mossberg 590 from Target World for $170.00. The stock was added after the purchase.
I would rather die in a shootout than get assassinated in a "gun free zone"

Re: The best deal you've ever gotten?
Got a good deal on a Snub 38spl 3-4 weeks ago from a forum member named "Raystown"......all I have to do know is sit and wait till a couple sheisters send me a check I am waiting on for several weeks already so I can pay the darn thing. The misses is nagging my ass off because she always wanted a nice little snub for carry......but you know what they say....hunger makes raw beans sweet.
If you guys ever have the opportunity to deal with "Raystown".....don't hesitate. The man is golden. You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent

The best deal I ever got? I guess it would have to be two free vehicles.
But if were speaking on things I have personally purchased? Then that's a little hard to determine.
Firearms: Ruger 10/22 for $219 or my M44 for $100
Ammo: Federal Champion 9mm 115gr FMJ for $9.47/50rd box

Re: The best deal you've ever gotten?
Last year I was poking around Gander Mtn. and on the el cheapo/used gun rack they had a pre-64 Winchester 94. Some guy had painted the whole damn thing with flat black latex wall paint so that it wouldn't reflect light. It looked like an absolute piece of shit.
I bought it...took it home...gave it a bath in hot water and soap...the paint went down the drain and the rifle looked like it was barely ever used.
Price...Seventy five dollars
