Carry out of state
hey guys i am sorry i have not been on in a while been busy with work and stuff I have a quick question i will be taking a trip to North Carolina I have looked it up here to make sure we reciprocate and i have read all the rules about the transport of the gun i was just wondering if anyone had carried in NC before?
I will be carrying concealed and will obviously have my permit at all times and so on other than that is there anything i should be aware of? this is my first time carrying out of state and i am just making sure to cover all my bases. i don't plan on open carry. just concealed and i am not carrying anything with hi cap mags or anything crazy but just checking thanks for any info guys.

Re: Carry out of state
Unless they changed it recently, in NC you cannot carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol. Doesn't matter if you're not drinking, doesn't matter if you're in the "eat" part and not the "bar" part -- no guns in establishments that serve alcohol.
I heard a rumor that might have changed this year, but I haven't been able to confirm it so, unless you can find proof -- better to be safe than get busted in a strange place.

Re: Carry out of state
NC is probably the most restrictive of the states where you can carry at all. Look over their laws carefully -- no carry zones include any place that charges admission, an obvious concern for visitors.
You're OK in VA, but need to observe FOPA requirements if driving through Maryland.

Try Massachusetts. If I'm not mistaken, MA (if you can get it, and it's not restricted to transportation to a range only) is $150 -- EVERY year.
