Man fatally shot in North Huntingdon home

By Moriah Balingit, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The Westmoreland County District Attorney's office has not determined whether it will file charges in the fatal shooting of an intruder in North Huntingdon early Saturday.
Thomas E. Weber Jr., 43, of Greensburg, was gunned down in the home of Kathryn Scalzitti, located in the 9000 block of Hill Drive. Raymond Costa, 51, admitted to shooting Mr. Weber to protect Ms. Scalzitti but has not been charged.
District Attorney John Peck said the three knew each other before the fatal encounter early Saturday, but he did not know the nature of their relationships. On Friday, Mr. Weber let himself in because he had a key to the home but no longer lived there. He then retrieved a gun in the home and shot at Ms. Scalzitti while she was in bed, hitting the wall above her, Mr. Peck said. He was charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief and harassment.
Mr. Weber continued to threaten both Ms. Scalzitti and Mr. Costa in phone calls and text messages, Mr. Peck said.
Early Saturday morning, Mr. Peck said Mr. Weber again let himself in, this time brandishing a heavy metal pipe. As he went up the stairs, Mr. Costa, who was in the bedroom with Ms. Scalzitti, fired at him at least three times but missed. Mr. Weber proceeded into the bedroom and lunged at Mr. Costa, who lifted his left forearm and was struck. Mr. Costa fired the gun, hitting Mr. Weber multiple times at around 2:30 a.m. Mr. Weber was pronounced dead at the scene.

Correct me if I am wrong, but with Castle Doctrine now in effect, it seems like there really isn't much to consider. The dead guy attacked the homeowner and a welcomed guest acted to not only defend her, but himself as well. Am I missing anything here (other than politics, etc)?

NORTH HUNTINGDON (KDKA) – New details were released on Monday about a shooting incident in Westmoreland County that left one man dead this weekend.
According to Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck, Saturday’s shooting on Hill Drive in North Huntingdon was during a domestic dispute.
Katherine Scelzitti had a previous relationship with the victim, 43-year-old Thomas Weber Jr.
A warrant was out for Weber’s arrest for an incident during the previous week. Weber allegedly used a key he still had to enter the house and fired shots at Scelzitti while she was in bed.
Scelzitti and her new boyfriend, Raymond Costa, reported that Weber had been making harmful threats through phone calls and text messages Friday night.
Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Weber again let himself into the house and allegedly attempted to attack them.
Costa shot Weber in the lower extremities in an attempt to stop the attack. Weber continued to attack and struck Costa with the pipe.
Costa fired more shots, which killed Weber.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.

Mr. Weber fails at life apparently. Mr. Costa needs to work on his accuracy and who the hell is Mr. Pack and why is he narrating?

Re: Man fatally shot in North Huntingdon home
I am glad to see the good guys won again! I would have changed the locks after the first incident. The BG got to close for comfort. If he would have had to break a window that may have woke up the good guys, giving an early warning. Dogs and house alarms can be expensive however worth every penny if the bark/alarm works at the right time.

The dude let himself in and shot at her and she didn't change the locks? And he let himself in a second time?
