Re: Any NFA experiences in Allegheny County?
From recent discussion (after the last shoot at drews) with others from allegheny county it sounds like the sheriff will not sign.

aghhhh
Im sure he won't give a reason why either.
I'll email him and ask I guess, maybe then I'll get an official written response.

Re: Any NFA experiences in Allegheny County?
I just finished my corporation registration in Allegheny. It was 125 bucks and all can be done online without contacting an attorney. I will keep you up to date with how the purchase of the suppressor goes vv

Re: Any NFA experiences in Allegheny County?
More than just for having it and all that, I'd like to teach my daughter/fiance to shoot and the BANG is part of what drives my fiance away (my daughter is 4 turning 5, Im "allowed" to take her to the range at 6). If we can head up to the family farm and shoot with little to no noise I think it will be a better experience to get more "into" firearms.

Re: Any NFA experiences in Allegheny County?
I'd like to resurrect this thread - any others with experience going through the NFA process (I'm looking to get a suppressor) that know who/if anyone will sign-off on the forms?

Re: Any NFA experiences in Allegheny County?
Two choices to get that info I'm thinking... one is find someone here from PGH that has done a NFA recently (good start posting) the other is find an active Class 3 and ask them. The guy selling cans will (should?) know if you can get the paperwork done. I know that John Brown's Armory handles cans in Beaver Co, not sure that he knows Allegheny Co but likely he does. Might give Timmy a call.
It has to start someplace... It has to start sometime...

Re: Any NFA experiences in Allegheny County?
Yeah, I'm starting the process with Bear Paw Arms and he responded with the following:
Yes the Allegheny County Sheriff is a bit of a mystery. Some guys luck out and some guys get denied. You have a 50/50 shot.
Start with you local Chief of Police of you borough, city, township, what ever. Then work you way up to the Sheriff.

Yes you can do a Trust or LLC/Corp and these will eliminate the need for prints, photos, and sign offs. You only need a copy of your Trust/LLC paper work, your Form4s & Cert of Comp, and a $200 check.
I have all of my personal items on a Trust. Armstrong County Sheriff will not sign off on a suppressor…..”They are for hit men”

Re: Any NFA experiences in Allegheny County?
I'd like to find a written application that was denied for that "they are for hit men" reason.
