M1 Garand ejection ?
Just purchased a M1 and while shooting I noticed that the ejection path seems to be between 1 & 2 o'clock with the barrel being 12:00. My question is is this normal or do I need to replace the ejector spring?

Re: M1 Garand ejection ?
What they said, and you will notice that when single loading, the ejection direction will be different than when shooting from the magazine. In single loading, the Op rod does not hit the brass.

Opening scene the last round is fired and the brass ejects to the side and rear. In other sequences the rifle is fired and the bolt chambers the next round and in doing so the Op rod hump hits the brass.Last edited by X Hunter; September 13th, 2011 at 05:05 PM.

Your gun's fine. You probably already know, but there's a lot of good Garand info here:
