I had the same problem with a gun a couple of years ago and the part that I needed was IMO very expensive. I posted on the GunBroker forums what I needed and had the part send to me for a fair price. It took me all in all not more then 2 weeks if my memory serves me correct.

Given that it's an SKB, were it me making the decision, I'd hang onto the thing.

Gunbroker's going to be the best bet for forearms. That or SKB itself - LINK

Today I made an unplanned stop at Kings Shooter supply in King of Prussia and I happened to notice a CZ Canvasback 12 gauge on their rack. The price was right so it came home with me. I will post some real pic's once my new camera shows up on Tuesday. It's used, but appears to be in almost new condition with the original box and all the chokes. Can't wait to try it out on the range. So for now it's not as pressing to get my SKB back up and running. I've got a few leads and I'm waiting to hear back from my gunsmith, hopefully one of them will provide me with an economically appealing solution.

    Good for you Chez,

Nice pick up but keep the Ithaca and have something to work on.

I recently purchased a vintage Remington 31B, 16 gauge, raised and matted rib and for the first time and last, busted the forearm cleaning the gun up. I muscled the forend nut and lost....thankfully the kids weren't home.

I was able to find a replacement forearm on Gun Broker for $100.00 but it took some time looking. I did repair the old forearm and it looks and functions great so the replacement goes under wraps until the time comes.

    Good luck...

Thanks all.......... still not sure if I'm going to hang on to it or not. The replacement forearm should be here next week. Which will give me time to think about it. Especially since I've also picked up a used Ithaca model 37 featherlight in 12 gauge. I love that gun, had it in 16 gauge for many years and sold it off. Missed it ever since. Once again, PAFOA has put another dent in my wallet.

Wait, so you kept the broken gun, bought a replacement, and the part to fix the old gun, AND a Model 37??

    Win.

    Bahahahaha.

There was a point where I had a bunch of Glocks. It was perfect because she couldn't tell them apart, except for the subcompacts.

Now that she's taken an interest in shooting most of my guns it's getting harder to keep her in the dark.
