new residence, ordering a gun and poss denial questions
I have just recently moved from pittsburgh to mckean county.
If I was to order a gun from out of state, and go to the shop for the PICS is it possible to be flagged/denied?
if I was denied, what happens with the gun and my money?
I have succesfully transferred my address on my C&R license w no issues and still legally obtain my PALTCF no issues there either, I am just worried about that random "denial" that goes around.
Even worse, what happens to my money that paid for the firearm?
thanks

Re: new residence, ordering a gun and poss denial questions
Not much of what you posted is relevant to your questions.
There is no such thing as a "Random Denial".
PICS SYSTEM
PICS PROCEDURE
If you are over 18 - not a prohibited person under Fed Law - and you fill
out the paperwork properly you WILL pass a PICS check.
Also , In this state if you pay for something and get a receipt you own it.
IF you were denied you could still have the FFL sell it for you.

I've never seen an address change cause any problems at all.
If you are denied, the FFL will give you the denial challenge form. You fill it out and send it in. If for some reason the denial is not reversed, you work with the seller and the FFL to either return the gun and get your money back or you have the FFL sell the gun and get your money back.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Re: new residence, ordering a gun and poss denial questions
I purchased several guns (from 3 different FFLs) and applied for my LTCF with my drivers license and an address change card. Just hand them the card with your DL -- as long as the address on the paperwork matches their records you should be golden.

OP I'm not sure what your concern is. Sometimes pics will request more information. If you get a false denial it's typically due to a past incident that has not been correctly updated in the system. Your current address has nothing to do with your application so long as you are a Pa resident.

You've got a C&R,,, the feds say your golden. Don't even concern yourself.
George,
So many guns, so little money.

I think being put into research is more likely with just a change in address vs on the spot denial.

Re: new residence, ordering a gun and poss denial questions
I've been a PA resident for a very long time, but back in 1978 I was convicted of a felony (car thieft) and put on the ARD program! Now all of my court cost and fines were paid including serving my time in the ARD program!
I was told my record would be expunged and now I'm interested in buying a hand gun? Will the PICS turn me down, should I waste the time and look for a hand gun, and go through the process, then file an SP 4-197 Penn Instant Check Syetem Challenge?
