Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Placed an order for a Savage Mark II bolt action in 22LR for my son.
Backordered everywhere. Sportsman's Warehouse has them in a camo stock but we want black. Went with LGS to support him anyways, no rush.
It's the exact gun my son wlll have to use to qualify for his Rifle Merit Badge at summer camp in the future, so he might as well practice on the same rifle they use.Galations 6:9...And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Let's see...
There's your average gun owner.
Then we have gun nuts.
Then gun enthusiasts.
Then the obsession with guns.
Then there is a level that should be called 'Cruzans'.

I bought myself a new holster so I mounted my old Serpa in my SxS like this:
Within easy reach and won't bash any knees right there.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
I owned a couple of these. They're nice for basic range stuff, but for competition or self defense or anything where speed is required, they're not great. They have a tendency to splay the rounds apart, so if you don't have them lined up perfectly, you have to fiddle to get it to go in. I stick to HKS and Safariland speed loaders for my S&W revolvers.
The best speed loader ever made is the S.L. Variant. Each round is held under its own inidividual spring pressure. Nothing flops around, and the release so smooth that it makes reloads fast and easy. Unfortunately, I don't think they're being made in Germany anymore, and the one place that imported them hasn't had any for several years. Only place I've seen them is ebay, and they're selling for $100+ each. I was lucky enough to score a few for my GP100 and SP101 many moons ago.
