Picked this up from Alderfer's today. A salty looking Type-53 carbine made in 1960 at Factory 296. No cleaning rod and the bore will need a lot of scrubbing. But the numbers all match and there are no import marks.

Yeah, that fee is quite a buzzkill. I tend to stop bidding the moment something gets to 350, otherwise I'll have a very angry bank account.

Yeah, those prices are fairly reasonable. Painting can be a shitshow if you don't have the tools/abilities to handle the tricky stuff like higher ceilings and stairwells. Almost anyone can do a good paint job given enough time, but definitely not everyone can do a good paint job fast. And that is a pretty good sized house for the money. painters billings mt is my company out west and we'd quote about the same for what you described.

Btw does anyone know a reputable supplier of old-school .45 revolvers? Having trouble coming up with anything even after some serious plundering of the local Scheels and Cabela's.

I went looking for a 43X and ended up walking out with this ... was carrying a Gen 3 ( had 2 of them ) always thought the Gen 4/5 was a solution to a problem that didn't exist and too gimmicky with the backstrap stuff .. than I felt it. so much more comfortable for my hands .. although i don't mind the finger grooves this is a better fit for me
