Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Lead free frangible stuff. I got the 9mm just 'cause. I'm no fan of light for caliber defensive rounds.
I'm currently looking around for info on how the .45 does, I may pick up a few more boxes to use in the g30, mainly because you can save so much weight compared to loading it with standard ammo.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Got myself a Hungarian AP-MBP, it's really just a PA-63 in 9x18 Makarov chambered in 32 ACP which is a clone of the Walther PP. I got 300 rounds of Geco 32 ACP ammo with it.
I can forgive that the bluing on the frame and barrel is worn but the trigger is absolutely horrid. The DA trigger must be pushing 30 pounds, single action is really stiff, the front sight is barely visible, the magazine release button is really hard to work, the magazines do not drop out and the magazine feels rough going into the magazine well. The magazines are also hard to load and sometimes when I load the magazine the spring gets stuck while loading the second or third round. The break down while simple is taxing. It breaks down into 3 parts: The spring, the slide and the frame. The barrel is fixed to the frame. While putting it back together is simple enough the slide release is the trigger guard and it's very easy to knock it back into the locked position, do not have your fingers near it when this happens. It's very easy to shoot the slide across the room upon reassembly. On the up side the barrel looks new, shiny with strong rifling. I took it to the range yesterday and it was hard to keep my shots on a 2x2 foot target at 10 yards. However overall the build quality is excellent, the safety works easily and the reliability was 100% over the 150 rounds I shot. Recoil wasn't much more stout than my Ruger 22/45 22LR.
I am not giving up on this pistol, I am going to see if the PA-63 hammer springs will work with it. I am going to get the set and try the 11 pound spring first. I am also going to see if I can buff the remainder of the bluing off the frame to make it look better. Maybe I can even polish the magazine well. I will probably put a little white paint on the front sight so I can pick it up better.
I also checked the Aim Surplus website yesterday to find the magazine capacity of this pistol and saw they got in a shipment of Belgium Hi-Powers. $420 for a handpicked model so I ordered one.Last edited by LifeInPa; August 10th, 2014 at 05:39 PM.

Brought home another 10-22 this weekend. Made a trade for a gun I was not shooting anyway.
