    The receiver is in good shape on mine, just a few wear marks that some Aluminum Black will fix quite easily.

    The slide though, it is ugly in real life. Starboard side has some really rough edge erosion. All the little rust pits will buff out, but that edge erosion may require milling(then milling the other side to make it match) - but we'll see once I strip it. I'm pretty sure I can make it look like new.
    Yeah I think if you give a good clean it will come up nicely.

    I don't think they were used much in service.

    Mine was "hand select" from Classic Firearms and it was pretty nice but still needed a clean which I think came down to lack of use/maintenance.

    They are really nice handguns to shoot, I really enjoy mine.
