I picked up this PTR91 last night with a Choate folding stock and a JLD narrow fore grip. I had refinished some nice HK furniture a few years ago and tucked it away for just such an occasion. This morning my vision came together:

PS - if anyone wants a nice G3 / 91 folder and fore grip let*s make a deal!

I removed the wood furniture from my gun. Wood stocks have dried up from the market and are going for a pretty penny. That, and I always liked the green German Bundeswehr look.

In an LGS today initially looking at a used SIG handgun but walked out with a personal grail gun, a LNIB Browning 53 in 32-20, unfired:



Photo is borrowed from the Interwebz, but mine has highly figured walnut like this one. I could do without that plastic finish Browning was in love with when they had Miroku make these.

I had all but given up on ever owning one, but the dealer had just taken it in trade and didn't want ridiculous $$$ for it.

Over the weekend I sold six rifles and handguns, and picked up another "grail" item, a 7.5" early Colt New Service in 44 Special, with the beautiful high polish blueing and hard rubber grips. It locks up extremely tight, and it is spectacularly accurate. Not my gun, but mine is virtually identical to this one except mine's a flat latch:



It completes the specific models and chamberings of NS revolvers in which I was interested in obtaining; a US Army marked 5.5" M1909 in 45 Colt, a 4" NS in 357, an 5.5" M1917 in 45 ACP, and a long barreled NS in 44 Spl.

Easy fella's - I have actually been selling some through my regular shop! Problem is, every time I sell one, I buy two! Wasn't going to post, but here's todays "just stopped by to say hi and pick up a check" purchases.
Nice 327 magnum sporting a nice set of Altamont grips (already have same gun but the price was right) and a nice case-hardened, Octagon barrel, w/side ramp Henry 38/357 - lol.

^^my thoughts too. And I have the exact same rifle in 30 30 so I “had to” 😂. Plus the price given to me was far below what they are going for so a no brainer.
