Sounds like you should invite a friend to come over and try that one out.

Purchased one of my grail guns today from a member. It is a HK P7 that was purchased by the state of Lower Saxony (Nds). It is the official version of the PSP, heel magazine release, standard trigger guard, and no heat shield.

Drool. My favorite gun. Will always pick one up at the right price. They keep going up and up in value! Congrats!

Never understood the reasoning behind or appeal of those things. OK , hard to have an AD/ND , and someone who wrests one away from you might not figure it out. Odds?

I've handled them , fired them and just don't get it. A few police depts adopted them , NJSP was one I believe. Don't think any still do. No longer manufactured. Don't think anyone ever copied them either. There's probably a reason for that.

    Now a P9S in .45 ACP , !

The gun was modified for US taste (frame mag release), the trigger guard was enlarged, a plastic heat shield added, and it was designated P7 M8. And finally, a 13-shot model was released. M8s and M13s are what were adopted by US police forces. I believe the original P7 style is still carried by some police forces in Bavaria. I collect German police pistols and this is one of the three hardest to find.

Having knelt at the alter of the church of HK, let me chime in. I also have a P7 PSP that I acquired in a trade. It*s one of those firearms that the more you use it and shoot it, the more you understand the design concept and come to appreciate its genius. The P7 went from nice oddity in my collection to a constant companion CCW. Sure, there are lighter guns, ones with more capacity; but few offer the slimness, safety, crisp trigger and inherent accuracy of the P7.
