I can live with the finish of the sintered steel, and am perfectly happy with the walnut. It shouldn't take much to make it presentable and hopefully get it back into the deerslaying business.

Just won a Bushnell Elite Tactical 1-6.5x24 for $356 plus shipping. I missed the auction and missed also getting the 1.5-8 for less than $500....fell asleep after work and my alarm apparently didn't go off. Wanted the 1.5-8 for my AR in 7.62x51. Kinda upset at missing out on that one. The 1-.65s are on sale for $700, so I got this at half price. The 1-8s cost over a grand. This one appears to be an older model, but they're supposed to be pretty good.

It's nothing "special" to anyone but me...Post-64, well used and needs some work to restore it to functionality...but it will remain a prized part of my collection until I eventually hand it down like he has.

Firearms like these are always the most special! Best wishes with it.

Picked up a couple deals today. Got this older LE marked M&P 40. Anyone know what LE this logo is? Wings , 150 years and it says People. Trust. Innovation. First thought something with Indianapolis but couldn't find anything. Had another that was clearly Brinks logo but this one is stumping me.
*** just informed by a S&W forum member that this is a Brinks logo too - a special one they put out for their 150th anniversary in 2009 - mystery solved ***

Also got this great old 12 ga double barrel. It's a Spanish made marked "expressly made for Kassnar Imports". Kassnar later turned into KBI in Harrisburg then to IWI. Nice scroll work and wood.

Went back and forth and a beautiful S&W Thunder Ranch 44 special in display case - still may - lol.

Thanks, friend of mine in Spain said it's a cheaper model ( 1968 Zabala Hermanos ) but that's ok, didn't pay much and surprisingly nice quality/wood/scroll work.

Today, for my birthday present to me, I got a professional quality knife sharpening jig.

Stones that came with it are decent, but I'm going to get better quality ones soon.

Received my scope today! An auction had a few Bushnell Elite Tactical rifle scopes, and I won this one. There were three 1-6.5x24s and one 1-8.5x24. I'd been wanting a 1-6 LPVO for one of my rifles, so I'm happy. Already have a mount. This one is 2nd focal plane, BTR2 reticle. These retailed over $1k when new. This one is discontinued. The newer models are also being discontinued (I think). Europtic has them for $700. I won this for $367 shipped (glad to save a few dollars on a used one). All of the scopes (even the 1-8) sold in the $300-400 range.
