Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Yes, 6". I didn't realize they were the most desirable, but that's an added bonus. I was so impressed with it's condition. Thanks for the info.
I want to replace the one broken hinge on the case if I can find one, but that's not a big deal. There's even some paperwork from when it was new.
(I also have a new, modern presentation box for a 6.5" I guess I'll put in the classifieds on the site)

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Favorite uncle is dying. Bad heart and lung cancer (former coal miner). In '68, he bought this Winchester from his father (my grandfather), and now he wants me to have it.
It's nothing "special" to anyone but me...Post-64, well used and needs some work to restore it to functionality...but it will remain a prized part of my collection until I eventually hand it down like he has.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Wasn't yesterday but a few weeks ago, just got around to taking pictures. With all the crap that is going around (BLM, antifa, road blockages) I figured I needed to add a handgun to the trucks driver side door pocket. Wanted something that if something happened and it got confiscated for investigative matters I wouldn't be out a lot of money. I bought the Zigana M16 ($279). Then, while waiting for it to come in a client had bid on this Taurus G3 (NIB) and didn't think he would win the auction so he found another one and bought it. I ended up buying it from him for what he paid ($270).
Haven't shot the Zigana yet, that will be later this week. Shot the Taurus, no malfunctions, shoots a little left (but not low left) so I'll shoot it some more to see if it's my grip or just need to drift the rear sight a bit.

What year is it? If you don't know enter the serial number at this site:http://www.savage99.com/winchester1894_dates.htm
I like it and it shouldn't be too hard to get it functioning again.

Admittedly I've been getting this stuff over the last month or so. But I'm enjoying learning how to pick locks. Still at the very early beginner stages.

Iron sights, 100 yards, 50+ eyesight....I*m happy with it. I prefer the heavier SOCOM type barrels such as this and my 14.5* HBPW, I find they group tighter for me.
