So, Walther made the parts and shipped them to Manurhin in France to assemble, stamp, and ship to West Berlin. Retired by the police in 1982, imported by Interarms. It’s a standard early post-war P38, unreinforced alloy frame, I’m not sure until I get it but I figure it doesn’t have the thick slide either. It does have the decocker with safety. Includes the Interarms box and two mags. I have a number of P.38-style pistols but this one was a Deutsche Polizeipistole, which I collect, so I had to have it.
Gun did not ship with a holster, but the original package would have. I found a great looking holster with the correct markings for a West Berlin Pistolet P1 (Wunderlich 1963, P.P.Bln) to complete the ensemble.

If we survive this quarantine, and if there's a central PA group shoot this year (sounds doubtful?) you're welcome to give mine a shot. We actually had 2 Mk23s there last year, mine and another fellow here (won't reveal him unless he wants to). Also have a few other HKs for people to try... Mainly the older stuff (VP70, P7M8, USPs of various flavors). Not really into the newer HKs as much.

I went the opposite direction as you. Started with a Mark 23, picked up a USP Tactical 9mm later. It's a great gun, but people make it out to be like a mini Mark 23, to which I disagree. They just feel like different guns to me, both worth owning.

I'll try and see what's up, but I haven't heard a peep from Pahuntingfool about the shoot. I'm kinda doubtful it's going to happen, at least on the normal date anyway

Plasma died so I had to buy a new tv. Got an oled from LG, 55. Its a better picture but a pain in the ass as I wall mount and do it solo. Didn't get any gov check yet, hope it arrives before the bill.

I really want to get into the old HK pistols, but so far only the VP70 has been cheap enough for me to get lol.

Nice. Have you used this before? Have not tried it yet. Curious to know how it performs

Ran a box through the Sub2000 and Odessa suppressor yesterday. I had to empty the other mags loaded with regular ammo first. Even with the 16” barrel it stayed subsonic, fed great. So far so good. My only other threaded 9mm, a Hi Power clone, is still at the gunsmith waiting on new sights. I have been thinking about a threaded barrel for the P226, but haven’t acted on it yet.
