Picked up a very lightly used 10/22 Takedown a year or so ago and decided to use it this year for new-shooter training opportunities.
It's not a bad little rifle out of the bag, but the sights are small (accurate, but small) and the trigger was a bit rough. Consistently broke at 5lbs by my gauge--which isn't bad for a factory trigger--but definitely not a smooth pull, even through the first stage.

So the trigger went off to Brimstone yesterday for their Tier 2 trigger job, and this little red dot came in the mail today.
Actually just a tiny bit smaller than an Aimpoint H1, with a crisp 2moa dot. I don't expect Aimpoint performance, but for 1/5th of the cost, this should be good enough for the 10/22. There is a torture test video on youtube that convinced me to give it a try.

As soon as the trigger comes back, I'm looking forward to playing with this thing myself. (Funny how that works. I buy stuff "for training new shooters"...but it always ends up being playthings for an OlGunner.)
