Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Well if you're sitting down you cna go to the TNVC website and see what things cost new: https://tnvc.com/
They just started offering financing haha.
Here is a basic PVS-14: https://tnvc.com/shop/tnvpvs-14-l3-gen3-omni-viii/
A used PVS-14 (gen 3, autogated, manual gain) with a clean tube is typically around $2200.
A used PVS-14 with the same specs but with a blem (black spot in the field of view) runs around $1800.
With the cheap bump helmet, mount, etc I have over $4500 in my dual 14 set up. The better setups that save weight are thousands more. Going from green tubes to white phosphorous tubes is money.
You can save a few bucks by getting a used PVS-7 with a gen 3 tube, but I wouldn't waste money on gen 2.
You can find used stuff on arfcom and some facebook groups. PM me if you want in the groups.
Then, you will want IR compatible optics on your weapons if they're not already and IR lights for illumination and IR lasers for aiming if you want to use them instead of the optic (the standard preferred method). In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

Nathan, if you think stamp collecting is addictive....wait until you see in the dark...while using your stamp collection.
"self, you need a flashlight that cost as much a pistol"
"I do?"
"of course, it's infrared...why wouldnt you?!"
"You're right! Take my money"

If we had a PAFOA Operator's Award for Most Tactical Operator... I think we know who would be nominated.

Oh, and DON'T look through white phosphorus unless you are ready to drop the coin on them right out of the gate.
No going back to green after that.
It's not that green sucks, there are amazing tubes out there in green that truly are top notch hardware. Its just that....well green sucks compared to WPHGW, llc ~ Title 1 & NFA sales/manufacturing ~ Transfers - Title 1 $20 - NFA $50

Sent my Remington 700 off to have a new Hart 26" 6.5 creedmoor barrel installed, reiciever squared and lugs lapped. Should have it back in about 2 months.
