    Default 1911 deals?

Could someone suggest a good 5" 1911 in .45 ACP, one which would be under $800 in total cost?

Any good deals spotted on the net would be helpful too, Gunbroker, Buds etc.

    Thanks, I appreciate it.

Springfield Armory makes some good 1911's for well under $800. I have a Range Officer that I really like. Rock Island 1911's get good reviews, too, although I have no experience with them.

I've heard almost nothing but good things about the Ruger sr1911. The MSRP is $799 so there shouldn't be any problem finding one for less than that.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Look at the used case in your local shop. In my local shop $800.00 can buy a very nice gun. Sometimes two very nice guns.

Can you say Ruger SR1911........... I've got on order at Express Police Supply (ombexpress dot com). $591.19, dealt with them before and had good luck. Now it's just a waiting game.. till it comes in and ships

The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

I'm leaning toward a Sig GSR for my next purchase. All my semi-auto pistols must have night sights, so this seams like a clear winner for the price.

    Manufacturer: SIGARMS 191145BSS
    Item: 50942

    Specifications and features:
SIG Arms GSR 1911 Revolution full-size semi-automatic handgun
    .45 ACP caliber
    5" match-grade barrel
    8 round capacity
Beavertail grip safety with speed bump
    Extended thumb safety
    Firing pin block
    Hammer intercept notch
    Single-action
    Novak night sights
    Checkered custom wood grips
    Stainless steel slide & frame
    Black Nitron finish
    25 LPI checkered front strap
4.5 to 5.5 lbs. trigger pull
    8.65" overall length
    5.5" tall
    1.37" wide
    6.5" sight radius
    40.3 oz empty

ps - If anyone can suggest something that can run with the Sig 1911 w/ night sights for around $800 let me know, I'd like to check them out!

What do you want the 1911 for? Completion, range shooting or as a collectible?
