Applying for LTCF
Heya folks! I'm going to apply for my LTCF on Friday. I have all of my paperwork in order and have a very clean record. Is there any advice you guys can offer which will up my chances of getting approved? What are factors which can cause a denial? I just nervous as heck lol.

Re: Applying for LTCF
Yes, move outta Philly and apply in another county
Just kidding (kind of).
Welcome to the forum.
If you've been reading things on this forum, you know that Philly imposes a lot of stuff on the LTCF process that is not within the statutes.
Sounds like you're all set.
Unpaid parking tickets seem to be a major roadblock, so if you have any... pay 'em first.
Good luck!

What hired goon said.
If you're record is clean you should be fine.
One thing to avoid doing though, at least I have heard this in regard to applying in Pittsburgh, is that you should avoid getting annoying or getting in to an argument with any of the women that work in the offices. I know someone that got into a bit of a verbal disaggreement with one of the office workers, and his application hibernated at the bottom of the stack for about 8 weeks before it finally got pushed through. Only took mine 12 days to go through.HEY Subscribe to my YouTube Channel! < AND > My blog!

Your record is clean .. Fill out the paperwork correctly .. Make sure you bring EVERYTHING they ask for .. I can't see why not .. Don't BS them .. They have ways of finding out ............

Re: Applying for LTCF
Wow I definitely did not expect my experience to be so enjoyable. I was in Nd out in about 15 minutes. The officer interviewing me was super nice. She explained everything clearly and told me to wait 8 weeks. I wish everything in Philly was like that. Now i get to wait and see.

Re: Applying for LTCF
Are you entirely sure there wasn't a strip and body-cavity search involved?
I kid... good to hear that it went smoothly and the PPD Gun Unit officer was nice. Now if only they cut down the "8 weeks" to "your background check came back clean here's your card".
Wishful thinking.

45 calendar days is the maximum time they can legally make you wait; that fact hasn't stopped Philly from routinely taking longer though.
Remember, you just had to pay with time and money, deal with an interview where any trip-up could deny you, and now you are waiting still just to exercise a fundamental right; I can't personally describe such a process as enjoyable, tyrannical seems more fitting.

When i got my last permit in Montco, it took less than 2 weeks.
8 weeks, Philly is such a disorganized toilet...

Re: Applying for LTCF
Or is the Philly Gun permit unit disorganized? From what I have read there have been issues discussed regarding problems with other counties' LCTF application procedures. Is most of PA a toilet, or is it all Philly's fault?
Broad brushing the city and alienating its gun carrying public is not a team building exercise and the lefties and gun grabbers in Philly, Harrisburg, and DC count on that.
