Re: Email I just sent to Waynesboro
That should be changing soon.
I havent kept this thread up to date but after a couple more emails, the issue was in the "new business" at the council meeting agenda last night. I had to work so I wasnt able to be there so I dont know what came of it, but at least it was addressed. When the minutes are posted, we will know more.

Re: Email I just sent to Waynesboro
Good luck, I'm a former resident of Waynesboro. I'm trying to remember all those great parks that I didn't get to carry in. There is one at the east end about a little bigger than a postage stamp. Red Run?
I do remember they had one particularly obtuse city official. I have lost track of him over the years but at one time he did my taxes and made a $17,000 error. I had to prove to him that he was wrong on something that I knew as a non-tax expert. He was perfectly willing to let it stand. One of the biggest knuckleheads I ever met.

The change in their "no firearms" park rule was voted on and passed unaminously, so they should be changing the park signs and their website at some point.
I quote: "Councilman Driscoll made a motion to amend the Park Rules to comply with State law. Councilman Greenawalt seconded; the motion passed unanimously."

Re: Email I just sent to Waynesboro
Ok, Waynesboro seems to be on board with the law, now, just today I noticed that Washington Township has a "no possession of firearms" rule in Pine Hill park (not sure about other washington township parks but I will investigate). I searched and found out that a member of pafoa brought the oversight to the township's attention a year ago. Not sure what the resolution was then but the rule is still posted.
Anyone know what happened a year ago or has anyone been working on this with Washington Township? I'll step aside or help out if someone else is dealing with it, if not then I'll take it on.
EDIT: Apparently the Washington Township that has been addressed here is different than the one Im in, so I guess I will carry on.Last edited by ray h; November 11th, 2011 at 03:44 PM.

Re: Email I just sent to Waynesboro
Ironically, just a few minutes ago I sent Waynesboro manager another email to find out why they haven't done anything yet.
Back in Oct. the council members made a motion and passed it unanimously to change the regulations but they have done nothing with it since. I just dropped him this email:
Mr. Hamberger,
What is the present disposition of the park rules and regulations change concerning the borough being in violation of Commonwealth Uniform Firearms Act? I see that council members have motioned unanimously (Oct. 19th meeting) to update the rules and regulations to become compliant with PA statutes but there doesn't seem to be any action taken since then to correct the violation.
Can you update me on where the borough stands as far as making the necessary corrections.
Thank You,
Ray Huffman
Washington Township was much quicker to make changes, although they havent changed the signs yet, at least Washington Township has changed the resolutions accordingly.Last edited by ray h; December 13th, 2011 at 09:35 PM.
