It runs good. It never had a round in it before the conversion so I have no idea how it functioned before.

    Good to hear.

I took mine out to the range yesterday for the first time since the conversion and everything went smoothly - it cycled every shotgun shell.

    Turned some heads too.

Nice, I'm heading up the farm to shoot some targets in a little bit. I guess I gotta take the Saiga now.

They used to be much cheaper when our dollar was stronger against the ruble also. That and people didn't want them before because of the lack of aftermarket parts on top of the fact that they were Russian.

When I paid $300 for mine guys thought I was crazy and should of been given some KY to ease it down... probably because they bought them up when they were....$199, $250 for factory camo.

I can't wait to finish mine. Too much money invested to not be shooting it. It's currently being coated with FDE. I have the AGP Magwell but will have to wait to put it on. Still kinda nervous doing it myself.

How do you like that Kvar handguard? I was thinking about getting one of those myself.

I re-profiled the bolt and polished the bolt, bolt carrier, and Tapco g2 FCG. I used a 220 drum attachment to get all the lumps out of the metel then a 220 scotch dremel pad, then a 320 scotch dremel pad,400,600,800,1200,1500 3M Sand paper. Then polished with red rouge. Followed by a lighter Flitz metel polish which really brought out the deepth. Its smoother than glass and I can see my reflection in it like its a mirror. The action is super smooth and it will feed walmart value packs on setting 2 of the gunfixer plug with reduced recoil spring.

I absolutely love the K-var hand guard. It completes the look of the rifle until I get the balls to get the dinzag AKS conversion and install it myself

HUH? you lost me here man. Re-profiling of the bolt and polishing everything is far superior to just shooting it to break it in. There are many more advantages to the "fluff and buff". Thats why every high end saiga builder does it plus some.
