    Default Enable group memberships?

Has there been any consideration given to enabling the 'Group Memberships' feature of the board software? I'm assuming it's disabled since other than it being present on my User CP, there's no indication of how to use it.

A forum search and check of the FAQ didn't reveal any info either.

The Group stuff on here gets pretty complicated pretty quickly. I've never fully figured out how to handle it the right way. One thing I can't do is make many changes to how user accounts/groups are done until I get the new website up and running as it will be heavily interacting with the database on the forum.

Ok...so I'm hearing, "Maybe (at a later time), but definitely not right now."

    Thanks for the quick reply!

LOL..yeah, we could have groups for all the popular factions:
    AR
    AK
    1911
    Glock
    OC
    CC

Could be fun, but groups in VB get complicated!

I'm an admin on a local carclub forum. We're pretty active but nowhere near as active as we are on here. It took the 3 of us(admins) a few days to get the group situation straightened out, including a reload of the board software. Hopefully Danp is more skilled than us amateurs!

I don't see the benefit of further dividing firearm owners into "cliques".

That said, I have no experience with "group memberships", so I may not know what I don't know... or something like that.

Oh, Lord this is painful, but I've got to agree with EM on this one. I don't see what the advantages would be of creating cliques within PAFOA.

Yeah EM is right. But a nice quiet spot where every word posted isn't pounced on would be nice...perhaps for supporting members. With that said I haven't forgotten what I pledged, check is in the mail.

Another idea would be to add a group for each PA County but that would be quite a chore. I tend to agree that groups are not worth the amount of work required to set them up!
