damn, these are cool. they have to be a blast (literally) to shoot. they really upped the scale in firepower over the super shorty. but i have to say i will save the grand + and keep my little shorty. you gotta admit the shorty has it,s plus,s to, more compact, less expensive, lighter. if i can,t get it done with 3 rounds i should just hang it up. by the way my shorty makes a hell of a bedside gun.

that's what i suspect cadiz gun works actually did, weld a plate on the back of the receiver and remove all factory markings and serial numbers so he could claim he made a new receiver and call it an AOW

that seems like an awful lot of money for whats essentially a saiga 12 thats missing a butt stock and half the barrel. you can buy one and do it your self for probably about $700 not including the nfa fees.

There's doing it yourself, and then there's making it work. As I understand it, once you get to a certain point in barrel reduction, you end up messing with the gas ports. That requires additional modification, and if you arent someone who really knows what you are doing, you could end up spending a lot more fixing your mistakes. If it were a pump gun or side by side, much easier - but gas system requires tweaking. Tromix is the #1 guy for Saiga conversions - he has a waiting list out through next year and comes very highly recommended.

I'm not sure how they can classify it as an AOW because I thought that meant the receiver would have never had a stock on it. I also wasn't aware that there were any Saiga 12 receivers that were sent into the country. I could be wrong on all accounts though.

I wouldn't have anyone, but Tony Rumore aka Tromix work on my Saiga. He built my S17 a few years ago and I still haven't shot it yet. I might since I just picked up two 12rd drums for it...I went with the 12rd over the 20rd drums because the 12rd drums are nice and compact.

a saiga 12 receiver that happens to look exactly like the factory one. and considering the trunnion is actually the serial numbered part... seems like a gray area to me
