I am looking for advice on magazine holsters for an upcoming training course. what do most people use? Cheap mag holsters from walmart? do you guys just throw them in your pockets? kydex? leather? what are some decent holsters to carry my mags in. Single stack vs double stack? i am not concernd about what they look like i need something that works and thats it.

I bought a Galco J1919WC. It is a leather double mag holder for single stack .45ACP. It works fine. no problems with it. It is also quieter than the hard plastic type that seem to popular now a days. Galco has mag holders for various types of mags single and double style.
I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

comp-tac makes some real simple inexpensive ones that you can just clip on and off your belt. Great for taking classes where you might just want to carry extra ammo to the line.
Multiple singel pouches generally are prefered as you acn mount them where you want and push them close or spread them far apart. Comp-tac makes a nice doubele though that has a bend that sits right on the hip, should be perfect for what you need.

What course are you taking ?

I recommend Fobus magazine pouches. They have them in all configurations and they are really great products. The holsters, I'm not such a fan of, but the magazine pouches are fantastic and can be had in either belt slide or paddle single or double, single stack or double stack. They are around $20 a piece.

i got a dual mag pouch (blade tech) a friend gave it to me.
it works well for the classes ive taken.
i usually end up loading every mag so then i wear cargo pants
and stuff them in pockets, and replace the ones in the pouch as i go
I dislike the diamond commercials, give me something useful like guns, ammo or cookware.
