Default Re: Colt Delta Elite 10mm or Ruger SR1911?

I would really look at what I am getting for $600. Brand new Ruger 1911 that has gotten a ton of good reviews, and is in the proven, less expensive, very accessible, .45 ACP. Everything on it is made in the USA, and it has no firing pin safety (the DE does). Although 10mm is a nasty round (close to a 41 mag) and will take some large game, the .45 +P ACP will definitely take some large game, as well. And to everyone who thinks you can just up and get an SR 1911 whenever you please, well, that will be true as soon as all the orders for them get filled, which could take a long time, which is due to the fact that #1, it is a Ruger and #2, it is said by noteworthy gun folk that it is a great 1911 for a Taurus PT 1911 price. My WM still cannot keep a 10/22, no matter which model it is, in stock. I'll take the Ruger. If it is an "I just want a Delta Elite 10mm" then go for it. Personally, if I wanted a DE, I'd be selling something to get both. I sold 2 guns to get an HK USP Elite and a PT 1911 9mm.

Two 1911's built in US with the reputation they have for $1200??? Oh yea, I am selling something to get them.

Haha, I hear that! With that said, I am pretty confident that I should get the DE now and sell/save up for the Ruger at a later date! Sounds like a good plan!

If all goes well, tomorrow at noon, I will be a DE owner! Pics to follow!

Brightside, you can always find a .40 barrel and throw it in... Cheaper to shoot... You can save your 10mm barrel and rounds for the water buffalo at Walmart... Just don't hurt them too badly, never know when I'll be single again and need to pay for sex with my dignity... lol

I'd have to go for the Ruger because I'm trying to not add another caliber. If add another die set was not a factory i too would go with the Colt because its a colt and the Delta Elite was always a sharp gun and you can't beat 10mm power. I have 40 s&w die set can you do the 357/38 things withe 10mm/40 cal?
    Reloading wise???

Haha, I'm still at work, but I'll get pics tonight. I can tell you that a quick call to Colt revealed that this gun is 1988 vintage! It also look like it has rarely been fired if ever! I took it out the door for $650 with transfer, tax and 100 rounds of ammo!

Holy smokes, that was a steal... the ammo alone is worth $50!

Yeah, the die sets for 40 S&W also work for 10mm Auto.
