2010 LTCFs by County and Firearm Transfer Metrics
Attached hereto find statistics for LTCF issuance and firearm transfers for 2010. The info is also avaailable in a 7 page .pdf file - click here.

Some interesting facts -
LTCFs issue per persons 21+ years
.............HIGHEST: Centre (30.9%) [1 in 3] *may be skewed due to their high issuance of non-resident LTCFs
.............LOWEST: Philadelphia (2.5%) [1 in 40]
.............AVERAGE: Statewide (7.9%) [1 in 13]
.............Total Statewide LTCFs: 737,355
Trends comparing 2010 to 2009:
.............LTCF issuance: -14.1% [-23,380]
.............Long-gun Transfers: -1.5% [-3,809]
.............Handgun Transfers: +1.8% [+4,252]
All counties show a decrease in LTCFs issued (2010 v. 2009) except for Centre (+2,697), Clearfield (+187), Jefferson (+8), Lehigh (+99).
Notes:
.............LTCF statistics are not adjusted for revocations or issuance to out-of-state residents.

Not to this one either. People don't realize how many folks around here have guns, and carry them. You would truly be hard pressed to find a house that doesn't have a gun in it in this area. Every relative of mine, and I mean every one of them, has a gun. Most have LTCF's. Every unrelated person I know has a gun.

Am ashamed that York County has only 9% of law abiding citizens armed. We need to double that % ASAP !

Hah - it's no coincidence that counties bordering NY and counties that previously did LTCFs by mail tend to be on the higher side. Also not surprising that Bradford is not colored red despite being a NY border county - they "require" references from LEOs or within the county, so they don't issue a lot of non-resident permits.
When I applied for my LTCF in Susquehanna County, the (very helpful) person at the desk told me that she does more LTCFs for NY residents than she does for PA residents.
