John's Sporting Goods, Galeton?
Anyone with an experience they could share? I drive by there quite often and will stop in one of these times. Just curious what he has and how he deals with customers.

Re: John's Sporting Goods, Galeton?
John is a good guy, I have gotten some good deals from him. Recently I purchased a Marlin 32-20 model 94cl with a Burris scope mounted in like new condition for $525.00, which I thought was an excellent buy.
Some of his stuff he values a bit too much for my wallet, but other prices seem about right.
Not a place to sell a gun, but then again, most gun shops are not either with some owners wanting to make 100 percent profit (or more) on used. Nobody forces gun owners to accept lowball offers so, there you are.
Worth the stop if you're in the area, just my humble opinion.

Purchased a Sig P238 from him today for an excellent price. Not a big shop, but for a business run out of his basement, there is a nice selection. Heavy on long guns, as are most shops up this way.
A nice guy, one I'd do business with again.

His shop is south of town. Take PA 44 south a couple miles, look for the sign on the right. Follow the road about 3/4 mile to another sign on the right, which is his driveway. His house is at the end of the lane.

You might want to call first, John has been having some medical problems.
I traveled there a couple of weeks ago and he was not open during his posted open hours. If you're right in town probably not a great inconvienence, however, I traveled about an hour each way, and, with the price of gas today, was a bit annoyed.
