Default S&W J-Frame concealed carry holster

I was wondering if anyone here has a suggestion for a concealed carry holster for a Smith & Wesson J-Frame. I would prefer a leather, high rise, forward canted thumb-break holster that is of a good quality. I was thinking of a Blackhawk Serpa paddle holster as well. I was looking at a Galco, but they are pretty expensive. Thanks in advance for any help.

Galco is not expensive. Trust me.

Take a look at Kirkpatrick Leather. http://www.kirkpatrickleather.com/product/h_d82.htm I bought one of their mini-paddles for a 3" J-frame, and it is very nice. Fits me and the pistol very well. It took a few weeks to get as I think they manufacture on order. They have a lot of concelement models and the prices are reasonable.

It looks like that holster, according to the pic, does not cover the trigger. That's not good, is it?

I just took a look at the Galco site, and it seems they do have the "Cop" models, which are close to what I was looking at at a more reasonable price. The one I wanted was one I saw at my local Gander Mountain, and they wanted $99.99 for it! But it was nice.

And I did check out the Kirkpatrick paddle, very nice, will take a better look at it soon.

    Thanks again for the input.

What I meant is that compared to some holsters Galco is very reasonable.

PS, everything at Gander is at least 10-15% overpriced.

I carry a steel J-frame using a Galco Silhouette and a good belt~~don't skimp out on the holster NOR the belt. You don't have to get the most expensive but don't get the cheapest either. In very hot weather I use a simple IWB holster with a tshirt and works great too but prefer the Galco.

Not much of an issue if the holster strap covers the exposed hammer, as in the photo.
Ive got a very similar holster and theres practically no way to pull that trigger with the revolver holstered because back strap keeps the hammer from cocking and the way the holster is fitted, it wont let the cylinder turn either.

Gotcha. Mine doesn't have a hammer, so that wouldn't work for me.

I've got a hammered piece also, no issues when holstered. During a draw, hand is on the grip, not the trigger.
