Re: I OC'd at district court, and cop carried in the courtroom!?
The basic rules are that LEO's are allowed. But each county is responsible for security in the respective court houses. A county can restrict even LEO's from carrying in the court leaving only Sheriffs, their deputies, or court appointed officers as the only beings allowed.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Exactly my point...I have testified in both types...yes you can and no you can't. One by one...no you can't is starting to be the rule.

Re: I OC'd at district court, and cop carried in the courtroom!?
Interesting.
My general feeling is that if a cop is allowed to carry in the court room then I should be allowed the same; if I can not carry in the court house then why should the police?"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - JOHN ADAMS, 2nd President of the United States of America

Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

How about a cop who is off duty and not there in the performance of his duties? Is he still allowed to carry?

Re: I OC'd at district court, and cop carried in the courtroom!?
because the local MDJ courts are instruments of raising revenue and their agents are allowed to protect that. Think about it- if you had a racket like they do wouldn't you allow your bodyguards to protect that?
Do you know another job that you can get without a law degree by persuading voters that you are the right person, and only have to get re-elected once before you can retire with a full pension and state benefits? The state pays its collection agents well.

Re: I OC'd at district court, and cop carried in the courtroom!?
I always forget that they are the only ones qualified enough to carry a gun
I agree. I do behavioral therapy in schools and obviously can not carry there. I am always amazed that I can carry damn near anywhere else but apparently the mere act of walking into a school building will turn me into a cold blooded killer...or cause the gun to jump out of the holster and kill the kids on the school yard.
Well hell I am in the wrong profession. Only re-elected once for a full pension and retirement? My parents lied to me, they said I need to work hard for my whole life for things I want and so I can retire comfortable; apparently not."Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - JOHN ADAMS, 2nd President of the United States of America
