    Default Cranberry Twp Breakins

So I heard on the news on TV last night that there has been a string of break ins in the Cranberry Twp area.

    http://www.wpxi.com/news/28625564/detail.html

My wife was in the other room and said, "What did they just say?"

I said, "There's been a string of robberies here recently."

    "What? Where?"

    "Here, in Cranberry Twp."

"No, those aren't happening here... they're not near us."

At this point I was at a bit of a loss for words. We live in Cranberry Twp. I work all day. She stays home with the kids. There have been a string of daylight break-ins in Cranberry Twp... but "they're not near us"?

I'm very happy that I have a large German Shepherd (100lbs+) who doesn't like people he doesn't know. I at least have some hope that he will scare off anyone that attempts to do harm to my family while I am at work... I don't think my wife quite understands the situation.

About three miles from fox run road to creekwood commons... so, she's right smack in it.

Thanks. She's not a gun person but since she's off during the summer I may convince her or at least my brother-in-law to borrow a shotgun.

Don't forget about the homeowner that shot at two guys breaking into his house on Dutilh Road a week or so ago.

Yep, that's right. ...and those are the reasons I carry a weapon even when at home... 100% of all home invasions occur in the home.

This is close to my house. These bastards try my doors while I'm working from home and this problem will be over. That video (that didn't work) was retarded. "You should lock your doors!" No shit June Cleaver. This isn't 1950.

I am somewhat amazed at the average folk in Cranberry. People with no deadbolts on the doors and such. Mine is one of two houses on my block with good dual-cylinder deadbolts on all the doors, deadbolt between garage and house, and a bar on the slider.

I'm pretty sure I also have more stuff of a, uhh, defensive nature than the remainder of the block combined.

"It can't happen here." Hmm, affluent suburb where people don't lock doors and generally have nice stuff in their houses--of course it can.

Cranberry is a prime example of a small town that got way too big way to fast. Tons of people moving in because of Westinghouse and gas drilling. Too many people in too small of an area. Crime is bound to happen. It's too bad. I remember 10-15 years ago it was a nice small town.
