    Lightbulb Re: "Awkward" OC Encounter...

My grandmother's family lived in New Salem since the 1920s.

My grandmother's sister lived on Seawright Avenue in Uniontown from the 50s up until her death a couple of years ago.

As a kid growing up in Westmoreland County, I used to visit her often; Uniontown was a crime-infested shithole even as far back in my memory as 1969.....

Thank goodness you would "stop the danger". You're a real life super hero.

A middle aged woman said :
    (W= woman & M= me)

W- You're making me awful nervous with your gun out like that!

M- There's no reason to be nervous, what Im doing is legal.

W- You mean to tell me its legal to walk around with a gun holstered on your hip like that?

M- Yes (told her the standard PA OC info)

W- Huh, I didnt know that. I still feel a bit awkward about it

M- Well, dont worry Im not wearing a mask I jokingly said.

W- (she laughed a little) and said, well I guess that's true. Although robbers nowadays dont even care about wearing a mask.

M- Thast true. But there's no need to feel threatened when people are legally, OC'ing. Think about this, if someone were to come in here with the intent of harming you, you would be glad that I was in here to stop the danger , right?

W- Well, I never thought about it like that. I guess you're right. (gives me my change) Have a nice night.

So, in all, I think it went well and she was left with an alternative view of people legally OC'ing.

    .
Great work. I think what we have to do is change the public's perspective of what a law abiding citizen with a gun looks like. Just like the OP did. People are so brainwashed to immediately associate a citizen/slave with a gun, as bad guy. People have been fed so much misinformation and horror stories on TV, that they assume regular people can't carry or possess a gun, let alone openly carry it. So we as gun owners and lovers of freedom have a responsibility to educate as many people as we can. Especially you OC'ers. You guys are the flagship for the cause. You are the ambassadors of gun rights, so it's so important to educate and push out the myth and misinformation and replace it with knowledge. And as ambassadors, you have to keep your cool even when people are dciks. (Like the guy at the OC rally. "Are you a shill?"..lol)
If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words.

I've never heard of a troll with over 900 posts. If you say so, I guess that must be what I am.

It sounded like a sarcastic post. If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Maybe you're not a troll...but that seems to be a definite flame job.

Sounds like there's something more you want to say, actually.

I would at least attempt to stop any danger if a violent person came in that gas station while I was there OC'ing, Wouldn't you?

You're a real life super hero.
    Thanks.
I guess that's better than being an asshole.
