This truly is one of the most (if not the most) important issue facing this country. The commerce clause has been the club the fed gov. has been using to destroy this country. Frankly I see no hope of this being reversed by our spineless SCOTUS, and the gov will never give it up. IMO the only chance is if the states stand together. Unfortunately I don’t see this happening either since many of the intrusions by the gov are welcomed by many people and state agencies.

Eight states have adopted his Firearms Freedom Act, which Mr. Marbut conceived as a vehicle to undermine federal authority over commerce.
This is what I think we should work on next now that castle doctrine is law.

I'll vote for Romney when he promises not to run in 2016.

Regarding the 1942 Supreme Court case of Wickard v. Filburn.... Somebody's wrong in their perception of the Founding Fathers' Intent.....

"Coming at the end of a string of similar rulings, the decision wasn't controversial at the time, says Jackson scholar John Barrett, a law professor at St. John's University in New York. It was seen as reflecting the framers intent to create a powerful federal government."

"Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, signed, even as she vetoed a similar measure applying to light bulbs. "Both bills invite lawsuits that would restore our Founding Fathers' vision of a limited federal government based on the 10th Amendment," said her veto message, but "the Firearms Freedom Act is the more immediate and practical vehicle for achieving the objective.""

"After a dispute with others in the state's National Rifle Association affiliate in the late 1980s, Mr. Marbut set up his own lobbying organization, the Montana Shooting Sports Association. "

    I like you thinking, Chuck.
Time to tell the Fedgov to back-off and assert the 10th amendment.

Do you think this governor would be amenable to such?

Her response - "I hope that Congress won't pass stupid laws". Sounds like a "blank check" to me.

Very interesting. However, the ramifications are so overwhelming I can hardly believe that the argument stands a chance of even getting to the SCOTUS.
