Laundromat Owner Did Not Know Carrying Firearms Was Legal

The lady and I went down to the local laundromat over the weekend to do ALL my laundry all at once. Also, my new cat just peed on one of my comforters.

Anyway, there was no one there and only the Asian guy that owns the place was working, with it being July 4th and all. He helped us get a bunch of quarters and showed us the most efficient machines, and we commenced filling seven of them with every piece of clothing I owned except what I was wearing at the time. I even washed my clean stuff to get the wrinkles out. We spent about an hour and a half there, and were waiting on the last two dryers when he finally saw my Glock.

We were both watching the TV mounted on the wall, and my back was towards him. I heard him gasp and start to chuckle a bit. Turning towards him, I said,

"You finally saw it, huh? I grinned.
"Oh yeah, I did not know you were a cop, or I would have given you more quarters!"
"Oh no, I'm not a police officer."

His eyes went wide as China plates, like this: (O.O)

"It's okay! It's totally legal. I'm a good guy, nothing to be freaked out about, my friend."
"You...you can do that? That's legal?"
"Yep! Anyone who hasn't committed any felonies can carry a firearm, with a few other restrictions."
"Oh...wow...I didn't know that was legal. Wow."

He was surprised, but not upset or scared, at least not more than someone would reasonably be after finding out something like carrying a firearm is legal in this part of the world. That was the end of the conversation and I was two minutes from leaving anyway.

Tell him about the Asian law student, Gerald Ung, who defended himself with a firearm that he was legally carrying on his person. My Asian friends like that story.

I didnt know OC was legal until i joined this forum. and I've been collecting for over ten years.

QFT. I did not know OC was legal either. To be honest, I didnt even know law was so easily understood if you just took to time to read it.

Thanks to PAFOA I actually look up the law before I assume anything is illegal. Life is so much different when you actually know what is/isn't illegal instead if getting your information from the various rumour mills. The truth is out there, and all you have to do is look for it.

Now. I OC every day.

Its funny I moved to Pa from Md just because of the gun laws. I know more about what is legal than my neighbors. At least as far as guns go. Even coworkers that live in Pa (we work in Md more money) can't believe that oc is legal. They told everybody at the shop "I seen Al in walmart wearing a gun" Priceless. I get asked all the time about it from coworkers.
