    Default iphone LTCF

I've seen on other threads people carry a copy of their LTCF instead of the original so the original wouldn't be seized. Would being able to produce a photo of my licence on an iphone (or any other cell phone) show I can legally carry concealed or in a vehicle? I almost always have my phone with me but not always my wallet.

    This answer your question?

    18 Pa.C.S. § 6122: Proof of license and exception
    (a) General rule.--When carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle, an individual licensed to carry a firearm shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce the license for inspection. Failure to produce such license either at the time of arrest or at the preliminary hearing shall create a rebuttable presumption of nonlicensure.
I don't think a digital image of a license is the license that you're required by law to produce.

I can't see how it would be any more or less valid than a photocopy.

That is an interesting question since many documents are in digital form in these modern times. Take tax returns for example. They can be submitted electronically and paper returns are imaged and the images are accepted as good as the original.

I just don't think the LTCF has caught up with the modern technology in that regard.

As the poo poo is giving you a shake down do you really want to give them access to your smart phone?

Only if you carry a portable printer with you.

Yep, you would have just more or less given them permission to take the phone back to there car and look at your email, web history, contacts, call records, etc for anything they might feel is suspicious.

Tape the copy of your LTCF to the back of your smart phone. That way its with you but you don't have to hand over your phone.

    Very true.

Who ever said a photocopy was valid? My LTCF is the old, oversize paper license so I made a photocopy in standard credit card size and laminated it, but I also carry the original in a back compartment of my permit wallet to comply with the law as I understand it.
