Default CC at disney in Orlando

I am taking my girls to Disney World this August and wanted to know if they have a firearms policy. I searched their website and did not find an answer. I may have been having a brain cramp when looking though. Can anyone point me to a link. I was going to call but if they don't have a policy I did not want to get them thinking and wind up with a negative one.
    Some people just plain suck.

From what I've heard and read, Disney has a 'no weapons' policy on all Disney property, not just in the parks. That being said, the only "security" at the parks is a bag check, so you won't be facing any metal detectors or pat-downs or have any personal contact with security for that matter.

If you're the type of person who refuses to disarm at any time, a small CC'ed firearm would go unnoticed by anyone who might care to be looking. Personally though, during the 20 or so times I've been to Disney World, I've never felt the need to carry a weapon while in any of the parks. For the most part, the parks are not a dangerous place (at least not in a way that a firearm would be any help), and I can't imagine carrying would be very comfortable after a long day of amusement park rides. Outside of the parks, but still on Disney property, is a different story. The parking lots would be my biggest concern, but if you are staying at a Disney resort (which I highly recommend) than their transportation services eliminate a lot of that problem.

One place I would recommend carrying would be Downtown Disney, though that area may have a different set of rules than the rest of the property. Downtown is open to the public, and has become a popular place for a certain portion of the Orlando citizens to gather. Disney recently removed most of the Pleasure Island district (which used to be all bars/clubs) to cut down on some of the problems there, but the shopping areas can still be pretty shady, especially at night, and the local criminals realize that the tourist crowds there are prime targets.

I personally have never carried a weapon on Disney property, but I am planning a trip in September and will possibly be taking a firearm with me. I don't however, think I will be carrying in any of the parks.

They will toss you if your outted...

And think if you had to fire a weapon there...most everything you see there is fiberglass or plastic. Not the greatest backstops for stray rounds when there are thousands of people around.

last time I went, I carried off park. never felt the need to in the park.

It seems to me that Disney is a prime target for a terrorist attack, so it is not totally unreasonable to think one might need a firearm.

I will agree that Disney is a prime target for a lot of criminal types, but not the kind you could use a gun to defend against. In the parking lots or outside the parks I could see a possible armed robbery scenario where it might be useful to carry, but not so much in the park. Petty theft or things like pick-pocketing are probably common in the parks, but that's hardly something you could use a gun for. As per terrorism, how exactly would a gun help against someone planning a large terrorist act. Even if you could positively identify someone as a terrorist (which I highly doubt), getting a safe shot off inside the park would be damn near impossible.

I don't trust the police with my life at any time, but if there is one group of police that I trust with my security it is the Disney cops. Like I said before, I've been to Disney many times, and have never once felt threatened or in any danger.

The ticket price (one-day: $85) probably has something to do with it as well.

I have cc'd at Disney. It is very much a don't ask don't tell.

One security guard with a good eye noted my wife's cc'd pistol printing on her hip. security escorted her to a locker in their security center and she got to lock her firearm up until we left.

she knows next time to bring a a P3AT or LCP. I was with her when she went to their lockers carrying my P3AT the whole time in my pocket.

You will be cited for Armed Trespass if caught. The last time I was at Disney they had it posted, and postings on private property carry full weight of law in Florida. It is a Felony of the 3rd Degree. The bail will be at minimum $10000. Max punishment of 5 years.

The signs serve as first notice, not requiring a verbal command.

You can google crime and disney and you will see that crime does occur especially at Downtown Disney. I have heard of crime at the Disney Resorts as well. Orlando has alot of crime so if you venture out to I-drive beware. In Orlando I always CC.
