Re: came home from being out all day to a note from the police dept
I don't have a whole lot of experience talking to police unless it's in a social situation. Having said that, it seems that there is something that smells like paranoia amongst you. Don't go in to the station and talk to the police alone? Stop posting and get a lawyer? I don't mean to judge, but I'm a bit puzzled as to why there are so many responses to that effect. Thoughts?

A brief consultation would likely be less than your bail in the event you end up not being permitted to leave voluntarily.
Do whatever you want, just don't whine if the advice you receive here seems better in hindsight.
Have you watched the "Don't Talk To The Police" video?
If not, now's the time.
If you have, you might want to watch again before you keep your appointment. Doing "nothing illegal" really has nothing to do with the matter at all.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.

If you dont listen to the wise advice of taking a lawyer and you go it alone, remember YOU WILL BE RECORDED THE WHOLE TIME.

Yes - And I was not being a jerk either - I honestly hope that you do not end up in a jackpot....
But you might call me someone who is "skeptical" of the altruism of the police in general...
But I do hope that you come out of this "interview" unscathed and free...
Regards,
Bones

Re: came home from being out all day to a note from the police dept
They may make an inquiry on your behalf, and would likely advise you to not talk to the police. Alternately, they could accompany you, and guide you question by question, perhaps suggesting that you answer some, and decline to answer others.
The police have the power to magnificently screw up your life, even when you have done absolutely nothing wrong. IMO, this is not a situation to take lightly.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.
