Kind of humorous chance to educate.
As some of you know, I am the President of Rural Sportsmen's Association and the former Vice President. Today after finishing up with the trap shooting I went into the bar to buy a pitcher of beer for the guys who loaded the traps and kept score today. (Workers do get free rounds but we buy our beer.) When I walked in I saw this female who I did not know get fixated on my OC XDm. Almost immediately I was greeted with a handshake from four other people. I got in line at the non seated service area with one person ahead of me. Then the male who was with the fixated female said,"you know you have have to conceal that thing. I have a permit and it has to be concealed!" I showed him my LTCF and asked him to show where it said conceal. He looked at it and said," this is an old one, mine's different." I then pointed out the renewal date was April 2011 and they have never said concealed carry since the UFA was written. Then with him a little confused and at a loss for a comment I took the pitcher out to the boys in the pavilion. I retrieved a flier from my truck and took it in to him. I pointed out this web site to him and told him that a copy of all of PA gun laws was available free of charge at any state representatives office. He thanked me and I went back to the pavilion to enjoy a few pitchers of beer and some fellowship with the volunteers who do the work.
The older I get, the better I used to be.

Re: Kind of humorous chance to educate.
I have been told that I had to conceal before as well from a "Concealed Carry Permit" holder and somehow they always say they have a different "permit"

Re: Kind of humorous chance to educate.
Anyway, it's really a moot point as you do not need a permit to carry O.C.
Just as carrying my drivers license does not require me to be operating an automobile all of the time...it just gives me the option of driving rather than walking should I choose to do so.It is you. You have all the weapons that you need. Now fight. --Sucker Punch

Re: Kind of humorous chance to educate.
Sorta had the same thing happen while filling my tank at WaWa last night.
I was tired and ready to hit the sack, so I was in no mood for chit-chat.
So, while my car is idling and I'm filling my tank, the tanker truck driver (with a Vineland, NJ address on the door) made it a point to walk past me and tell me to shut my car off while I'm fueling.
I said "why?"
"It's the law!"
"Really? Can you cite the particular statue of Pennsylvania law that mandates I shut my engine off while fueling?"
(I learned that from YOU guys!)
He walks over and points to the instructions on the pump.
I say "That's not a law; that's a suggestion."
He says "I do this for a living."
I say "What? Posture your opinion as law? Here in PA, we enjoy our freedoms. How about you just MYOB and go back to the PRNJ and enjoy your law-heavy society?"
No response from NJ-based trucker.....
He was probably right, but I didn't feel like being lectured at 3:00 am....
