Something to contemplate
There is a project, national ammo day, that is being run to show the powers that be just what kind of impact shooters can have on a one week period. Now I know that no one in this group would be interested in buying 100 rounds of any type of ammo but this might be something some of us might be interested in. I know that I'll be joining in, after all I have that new AR to feed, and I thought some others might be interested as well. Here's the URL; http://www.ammoday.com/index.php

Re: Something to contemplate
I don't have any reason to buy 100 rounds of any type ammo(believe that?) but I know about 92 people who would be glad to join in. You'll see us all there, whenever that day arrives...I know how hungry those AR's can be...Mike45

Do gun shops report daily sales?
Who other than the store owner will know?

Re: Something to contemplate
I doubt that they report any type of sales, but an increase in volume of any type of product around a certain time of year gets noticed by the manufacturers. The only one other than the store owner would be the manufacturers, they would see an increase in dealers purchasing replacement stock.

Re: Something to contemplate
Didn't know about National Ammo Day until today. Guess I need to go get some more ammo!

Not many gun shops open on Sunday (Nov. 19).

Re: Something to contemplate
Its been my experiance when this happens, prices go up! THe exeption to this is if no one buys any other day... Then you force the priced down by basically saying if your prices go up, we will go elsewhere.
I would worry tho the Govt would take this and say Great idea, now you can only buy on certain days and have a limit to boot!.
I think Illinois has such a law, you need a permit to buy ammon, and its in limited quantities.Last edited by Frenchy; November 15th, 2006 at 12:22 PM.
