Groundhog hunting near Williamsport
Anyone know anyone with a farm or land that can be hunted..We just lost our farm we used to be able to hunt due to change in ownership. All I hunt is Groundhogs with a .22 WMR or .223(if the fields are big enough to support such ranges past 150 yards). Figured Id ask not expecting much though...seems like everyone around here hates you unless your part of their immediate family lol.

Re: Groundhog hunting near Williamsport
I understand where you are coming from.
What I did was talk to a couple of farmers.
I have found many are very open to groundhog hunting on their property due to you eliminating a hazard for them.
What you may want to do it cruise around looking for larger fields, knowing they may have more hazards to eliminate.
Locally think Pennsdale, Muncy, Montgomery, and even down towards Dewart.
My wife and I went to Wal-Mart two weeks ago and started a conversation with the people parked in the lot next to us and he turned out to be a farmer with 150 acres.
You never know when you may be speaking with a farm owner.
Also, I hear some people travel up to Tioga and Bradford counties due to the number of fields up that way.
Just a thought!
