Re: Character references in allegheny county
LOL I over heard some place some one put a referance on his paper, when the Ref. was called, he was asked by the Sheriff if the other person had a problem drinking or with substance abuse...
The referance said Not at all, mater of fact, just the other day he drank a 40 Oz of whiskey right under my nose then a few snorts of some white stuff he was good as new! He has not problem with taking it.....Skeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.
The choice is yours, place your faith in the court system and 12 of your peers, or carried away by 6 friends.

Re: Character references in allegheny county
A sense of humor always helps with character references: "Yeah, he's a character all right..."

Just an FYI. I know two people who got their carry permits in Bucks County this year. The county did not call to check references with either of them.

Re: Character references in allegheny county
I recently acquired my CCW from Allegheny county. I used two co-workers as references, neither has a LTC, but supported my right to carry. Neither person was contacted and in 10 days I received a card in the mail instructing me to come back to the courthouse to pick up my license. With the exception of paying twice for parking in downtown Pittsburgh it was a painless process.

Re: Character references in allegheny county
Going tomorrow morning to apply for mine in Allegheny.
Just to be sure; I'm going to 436 Grant Street, right?
I've got a PA License with an updated ID card and my Vehicle reg. along with 2 references. I called the number on the site and Leanne? in firearms said that's all I would need and one permit will cover all legally owned firearms.
I was under the impression that you had to obtain one license per firearm. This is good news to me! My question is this: How do they know which ones I own or if they belong to someone else? Will I have to carry proof of ownership or am I in some database somewhere?

Re: Character references in allegheny county
No No No.
You get a permit, you can carry any and as many gun(s) as you want.
Doesn't matter they don't need to know which ones you own or if they are a friends etc...
no registering or anything.

I hope I am not hijacking this thread but one followup on that.
So anyone can have stolen firearms and carry them if they have a LTC?"Because I'm an American." - MtnJack
