Re: AR questions
Even if it's not, send it or bring it to me. If you send it, I'll get it back to you ricky-tick, I'd only want the money it costs to ship it (unless you pre-pay for that) or if you bring it, I'll set you up for success and have you do it yourself. It's quite simple especially with the tool that I have.
The way I got about putting a rifle together is that 'mil-spec' is the low mark of it, nothing less then mil-spec.

Re: AR questions
So I just got a Spike's Tactical complete lower with a standard M4 collapsible buttstock from gunbroker. I'm thinking I want a mid length upper but should I go 16" or 18"?This will be a standard zombie gun and maybe some gun games.
I'm thinking about an LMT or BCM upper.

Re: AR questions
DPMS, Rock River, or CMMG get my vote for 5.56 rifles. Daniel Defense makes some FIIIIINE gear, but can be a bit on the pricey side. If I were you, I would check the bargain bin at www.cmmginc.com. Every so often they put up some specials on rifles there that are a real bargain.
Quite honestly, building an AR-15 is the best way to get exactly what YOU want, but it will require a little know how, and the proper tools."A government big enough to give you everything you have, is also big enough to take it all away.
Gerald Ford.
Happiness is 5,000 rounds of match ammo.

Re: AR questions
Though I disagree with your vote for DPMS, I do agree with the building of your own. It's like bulding a resto-mod (enter year, make, model) car. You get what you want. The tools are not that expensive and you'll have them for life making it easier to justify building another rifle down the road.

Re: AR questions
Great analogy so I'll insert 41 Willy's gasser, and the tools, I'm an auto tech for the past 13 years so I'm not afraid of buying tools.
I got a Spike's complete lower and if all goes well, and it will I will be getting a BCM mid length 16" A3 flat top with a flip up rear sight and down the road a bit an Aimpoint and maybe a suppressor
