Robinson Armament M96

I have recently been reading about the Robinson Armament M96. This is essentially an updated Soner 63 which was another Stoner rifle used in NAM primarily by Seals. It sure sounds interesting to me but I do not know anyone who has one and have never actually seen one. Does anyone have any experience with this rifle?

I had one years ago, I think it was about 2000-2001.

its not really an 'updated" stoner 63 per se, its a remake in appearance mostly, the only stoner part that will drop on is the buttstock.

Mine was kinda crappy, and i was very disappointed in it, in fit and finish, accuracy, and function.

nonchrome lined barrel rusted easily
barrel quick release had issues that sometimes sent it downrange when the latch disengaged

you had to move the front sight TOWER around for windage adjustments
it functioned funny, seemed slow or hesitant in cycling
the carrier hung up periodically
the gas piston had issues with the clips or something
some roll pin came out periodically
it was HEAVY for what it shot

I was glad to see the end of it to tell the truth, went back to my AR15s, which outperformed it in every way that matters.
