Default Chance to eliminate firearm records from Patriot Act (urgent)

    From Ron Paul's Facebook:

Rand has spent the past four hours fighting attempts to ram Patriot Act Re-authorization through and is urging Sen. Reid to keep his agreement and allow amendments.

Rand has an amendment to exempt gun records from Patriot Act searches. It seems this amendment is holding up further amendments and votes.

We must insist on this amendment and urge fellow 2nd Amendment defenders to call their Senators right away!

Why don't we insist on rescinding the entire un-Patriot act?

    Consider this:

"an act of congress repugnant to the constitution can not become law.
    MARBURY -V- MADISON
    1Cranch 137 (1803)

The only rights government can take are those you are willing to surrender.

It's the law, it's the law is just cowering before those who are supposed to be the servants! It is not law if it violates the Supreme Law (the Constitution) and if we have not consented. We are the masters and those members of congress, the executive and the judiciary are the servants. Any other way is to turn this hierarchy on its head.

    Wake up America!!!

Yeah, I'm wondering why the effort is being focused on amendments to accept things from that act instead of keeping it from being re-authorized.

Made my call to Toomy's office. Left a voice mail. Freakin' surprised that he voted FOR the Patriot Act extension! He apparently forgot WHY he was elected. Same thing for Mike Kelly (Butler).
John Stuart Mill noted: ‘A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares about more than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.’

I think it makes sense to attack the (Un)Patriot Act from both directions. Try to kill it altogether... but also destroy it from the inside out. It is good to have a backup plan.
